Our journey begins in a small coastal town in Calabria, Italy, where Vincenzo Lopresti first cultivated his passion for viticulture. His vineyards, planted in the early 1910s, laid the foundation for a love of grapes and winemaking that has been passed down through four generations.

In 1984, Vincenzo’s grandson, Domenico, planted his first vineyard on a 10-acre block in Whites Valley, on the outskirts of the renowned McLaren Vale wine region. Nestled at the base of the rolling Willunga foothills and close to the sea, this unique location offers the perfect climate and soil conditions for growing premium grapes. Today, we’ve expanded our vineyard to over 200 acres of thriving vines.

Our vineyards are home to classic grape varieties such as Shiraz and Grenache as well as Mediterranean varieties including Vermentino, Sangiovese,  Nero d’Avola and Montepulciano which flourish in the sun-soaked, coastal environment of Whites Valley. These resilient grapes are perfectly suited to the warm, dry climate, producing wines with bold, distinctive flavours that reflect both our heritage and the land we love.

All of our wines are made from grapes sourced from our McLaren Vale vineyards which are certified under the Sustainable Wine Growing Australia program.

In 2019, we proudly launched Whites Valley Wine, bringing our family’s winemaking tradition to life. With generations of passion, experience, and a deep respect for the land, we craft high-quality, fun, and well-rounded wines that celebrate our story and the Mediterranean spirit that inspires us.
